The CamSet3P-15 is a three-position aided-reset system designed for compatible AR-15 platforms. It features Camtac’s patent-pending Reset-on-Close™ technology and provides SAFE, SEMI, and AIDED RESET selector positions.
No. The CamSet3P-15 is not a replacement trigger or drop-in trigger assembly. It is an aided-reset system designed to work in conjunction with a compatible AR-15 fire control group.
The firearm retains its existing trigger and normal SAFE and SEMI functions, with the CamSet3P-15 providing the aided-reset function when the selector is placed in the AIDED RESET position.
The CamSet3P-15 uses Camtac’s patent-pending Reset-on-Close™ technology to provide an aided trigger reset when the selector is placed in the AIDED RESET position. Unlike systems that initiate the reset during the opening or rearward portion of the operating cycle, the CamSet3P-15 performs its aided-reset function as the action closes.
When the selector is placed in SAFE or SEMI, the aided-reset components remain inactive and do not interfere with normal operation of the fire control group
Reset-on-Close is Camtac’s patent-pending operating system used in the CamSet3P-15. Unlike aided-reset systems that initiate the reset during the opening or rearward movement of the firearm’s action, the CamSet3P-15 performs its aided-reset function as the action closes and the bolt carrier returns forward.
This unique operating method is a fundamental part of the CamSet3P-15 design.
The CamSet3P-15 is designed for use with compatible AR-15 platforms equipped with a low-shelf lower receiver. Because receiver dimensions and component geometry can vary between manufacturers, compatibility cannot be guaranteed with every upper, lower, or fire control group combination.
We recommend reviewing our compatibility and installation information before purchasing or installing the CamSet3P-15.
Yes. The CamSet3P-15 requires a compatible low-shelf AR-15 lower receiver to provide the necessary clearance for the system to operate properly. High-shelf lower receivers are not compatible.
If you are unsure whether your lower receiver is low-shelf or high-shelf, review our installation information before purchasing.
The CamSet3P-15 is designed to work with standard mil-spec AR-15 triggers, but may also work with some aftermarket triggers. Because aftermarket trigger geometry varies between manufacturers and models, compatibility with aftermarket triggers cannot be guaranteed.
No. When installed in a compatible AR-15 platform, the CamSet3P-15 does not require permanent modification to the firearm or lower receiver.
The system can be removed, allowing the firearm to be returned to its original configuration.
The CamSet3P-15 is designed for straightforward installation by individuals familiar with the AR-15 platform. Professional installation is not required; however, if you are unfamiliar with AR-15 fire control components or are unsure about proper installation and function, we recommend having the system installed or inspected by a qualified gunsmith.
Always follow the Camtac installation instructions and perform the required function checks before use.
No. In the SAFE and SEMI positions, the CamSet3P-15’s aided-reset components remain inactive and do not interfere with the normal operation of the fire control group.
The aided-reset function is activated only when the selector is placed in the third, AIDED RESET position.
The CamSet3P-15 is designed as an aided-reset system for a semiautomatic firearm and does not cause the firearm to fire more than one round by a single function of the trigger.
Federal courts have ruled that the forced-reset triggers at issue in recent litigation do not meet the federal definition of a machine gun, and the Department of Justice subsequently settled the related federal litigation. justice.gov
